Product description
Equi-Soft® lambskin girth covers from Mattes: comfort and quality at the highest level
Lambskin covers for the Equi-Soft® girth can be replaced in seconds thanks to the practical Velcro system.
Benefits of lambskin
Made from genuine, natural lambskin, these covers provide a skin-friendly, breathable, and hypoallergenic surface. The soft material has shock-absorbing properties and ensures maximum comfort and protection, even with intensive use. With regular care, the lambskin remains supple and fully functional, and its top quality is preserved even with frequent use.
Made to the highest standards, Made in Europe
The Equi-Soft® lambskin covers are manufactured by Mattes, a renowned company with many years of experience in producing high-quality equestrian articles. The lambskins are carefully selected in Australia according to strict criteria and handmade in the EU, at the company's plant in Poland.
Sizes
The covers are available in two sizes, corresponding to different girth lengths:
For girth lengths of 40-45 cm
For girth lengths of 50-150 cm
Washing instructions
To maintain the quality and breathability of the lambskin, the cover should be washed regularly, depending on the frequency of use. If used two to three times a week, washing every two weeks is recommended. When the lambskin is soaked with sweat, it should be washed immediately after use, as the ammonia contained in horse sweat can damage the material.
Because lambskin absorbs moisture very well, the cover can only be reused when it is completely dry. This ensures that its breathable effect is maintained. If the cover does not have enough time to dry between rides, it is worth using several covers in rotation.
Step 1: Washing
Machine washing is recommended, as it is much more effective than hand washing. Use a normal cycle with a spin cycle at 30°C and select the "extra water" option, or add about 3-4 liters of additional water to the detergent compartment about 10 minutes after the program starts. We recommend the special MELP detergent from Mattes, which cleans and conditions both the lambskin and the leather. Do not use fabric softener or bleach, and do not overload the washing machine.
Step 2: Drying
Remove the cover from the washing machine immediately after the cycle ends. The cover can be tumble dried on a cool setting (maximum 30°C) or air dried in the shade. Do not expose the cover to heat sources (such as radiators) or direct sunlight.
Storage
Do not store the cover in a plastic bag. Keep it in a dry, shaded place. If the cover will not be used for a long time, wash it first and ensure it is completely dry before storing. We recommend using a moth repellent during storage.
